- What does my insurance cover?
- There are more than 30,000 dental plan contracts in Ontario and each one is different. As a consumer, it would be best for you to understand the details of your dental plan. Your Human Resources department can assist you in this manner. All treatment and care decisions should be made by you and your dentist based upon your actual needs, aside from your dental plan coverage. Your dental plan is not necessarily a treatment plan! It is there to assist you in covering some of your costs as you move towards excellent dental health.
- What else do I need to know about financials?
- Please remember you are fully responsible for all fees charged by this office, regardless of your insurance coverage. Please note insurance companies do not inform dental offices of changes to your policy.
- When can you eat after having fluoride?
- You should wait 30 minutes to eat, drink or rinse after having fluoride.
- What are Pit and Fissure Sealants (PFS)?
- PFS are coatings applied on the grooves of molar teeth that are intended to prevent the growth of bacteria that promotes decay in the grooves. This method of preventing cavities from developing in the pits and fissures, is to seal them off with a special varnish called a pit and fissure sealant, that is BPA free. It is a quick and painless procedure that helps to prevent future decay.
- What is Nitrous Oxide Sedation?
- Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a gas that's combined with Oxygen to produce a calming effect when inhaled. This can help you to relax during your dental treatment. When the procedure is over you will breathe in only Oxygen for a few minutes to eliminate the effects and to leave with a clear head.
